Thread milling is the use of thread milling tools for the processing of large hole threads and threaded holes of relatively difficult materials. It has the following characteristics:

  1. There is no tool front-end guide, which is more convenient to process blind holes with short thread bottom holes or holes without undercut.

 

The cutting tools for thread milling are divided into two types: machine clamped carbide cutter and integral carbide cutter. The machine clamped cutter can not only process holes with tread depth less than the length of the blade, but also holes with thread depth greater than the length of the blade; The integral carbide milling cutter is used to process holes with tread depth less than the length of the cutter;

CNC machining center tap machining method

 

It applies to threaded holes with a small diameter or with low requirements for hole position accuracy. Generally, the diameter of the threaded bottom hole drill is close to the upper limit of the diameter tolerance of the threaded bottom hole, which can reduce the machining allowance of the tap, reduce the load of the tap, and improve the service life of the tap.

 

We should choose the appropriate tap according to the processed materials. The tap is relative to the milling cutter and boring cutter;

 

Very sensitive to processed materials; Taps are divided into through-hole taps and blind hole taps. The front guide of through-hole taps is long, which is a front chip. When machining blind holes, the processing depth of threads cannot be guaranteed, while the front guide of blind holes is short, which is the rear chip, so pay attention to the difference between the two; When using a flexible tapping collet, it should be noted that the diameter of the tap shank and the width of the square should be the same as that of the tapping collet; The diameter of the tap shank for rigid tapping shall be the same as that of the spring jacket.

 

The programming of the tap machining method is relatively simple, which is a fixed mode. It is OK to add parameter values. It should be noted that different CNC systems have different subroutine formats, so the representative meaning of parameter values is different.

 

Buckle processing method

 

The thread pick processing method applies to the processing of large threaded holes on box parts, or when there is no tap and thread milling cutter, this method is adopted, and the thread turning tool is installed on the boring bar to bore the thread. There are the following precautions for the implementation of the snap processing method:

 

  1. Start the spindle with a delay time to ensure that the spindle reaches the rated speed;

 

  1. The grinding of the hand-ground thread cutter cannot be symmetrical, and the reverse tool withdrawal cannot be used. The spindle should be used to orient the cutter to move radially, and then withdraw the cutter;

 

  1. The cutter bar must be accurate and consistent with the position of the cutter slot, otherwise, it cannot be processed with multiple cutter bars, resulting in a disorderly buckle;

 

  1. When picking up the buckle, pay attention not to pick it with one knife, not even a very thin buckle, otherwise, it will cause tooth loss and poor surface roughness, so you should pick the buckle with multiple knives;

 

  1. The thread picking processing method is only applicable to single piece, small-batch, special pitch threads, and the absence of corresponding tools, and the processing efficiency is low.

 

The pick-up processing method of the NC machining center is only a temporary emergency method. It is suggested that we use the thread processing method to process tools, to effectively improve the efficiency and quality of thread processing, reduce the processing cost and improve the efficiency of the machining center.
